Open Burning Best Practices
After considering alternatives to burning if you couldn't find any better way, please take these steps to burn your agreeculture waste in a correct way.
1.Burning should not start until after 10 am, as conditions are usually poor for venting smoke before that time.
2.Stumps and branches over 8inches in diameter must be dried for a minimum of two years or to equivalent dryness in accordance with local bylaws.
3.Prunings and small branches must be dry before burning.
4.Make smaller piles, with good air ventilation for efficient burning.
5.Check wind direction to keep smoke away from neighbours.
In some conturies like Canada you have to call the Regional Open Burning Information line on the day you want to burn to ensure that your berning is permitted.
